A Lonely Birthday

Another year, another sky—
But you’re so far, and I ask why
The man I love, the soul I crave,
Sleeps tonight beside the brave.
No cake, no lights, no sweet embrace,
Just cold winds dancing on your face.
Yet still you smile, you never bend,
My soldier, my heartbeat, my best friend.
Six months, and through day n night,
I hug your shirt and hold on tight.
I trace your name like whispered prayer—
Wishing I could just be there.
You bear the storms, the frost, the fire,
While I breathe through this ache, this silent choir.
I wear your strength like second skin,
But God, I miss the warmth within.
I’d give the stars, the sun, the sea,
To have your arms wrap around me.
But duty called, and you stood tall—
For us, for all, you gave it all.
So on your birthday, I just pray—
You feel my love from miles away.
No gift, no touch, just words and tears,
And a heart that's loved you through the years.
I wait, I count, I dream, I yearn—
For the day you'll finally return.
But till then, know—through all you do,
I’m here, I’m yours n I’m proud of you.
