I should have told you how flowers grew,
and how the sky turned brighter blue.
How rain would fall when you were near,
but somehow, I had so much to fear.
I should have said how clouds could fly,
just drifting slow across the sky.
How every time you looked my way,
the world felt lighter in some way.
I should have told you how you shine,
how being near you felt like mine.
But all those words stayed in my head—
I kept them quiet, left them unsaid.
I thought I’d have another day
to let you hear what I can’t say.
But time moved on, and you were gone,
and now I’m left to miss you long.
I should have told you how I feel,
how everything with you was real.
Now all I do is wish and try
to say the things I let pass by.
