A letter found in the book he kept
Tucked where his quiet memories slept
In yellow pages n blurry writing
A voice from him to awaken spirit of fighting
Hey beloved,he said
If I don't make it through the rain
Don't let my silence bring you pain
I fought for our soil with all my might
But you were my power in every dark night
Remember our dreams and the skies once blue
Of holding hands even when moments were few
Of whispered prayers where tears stand whole
My thoughts had you as their primary soul
So my love, don't let your heart cry
Just gather yourself n keep your head held high
You are the strength n you are the vigour
Rise from ashes n let your phoenix roar
Now every year, when autumn fall
She feels his words, remembers all.
And though the war has long since passed,
His letter makes their love still last.
