Frightening are you, Scarring are you
Shocking are you, Unacceptable are you.
Come without warning nor clue,
Shattering my little world with a shoo,
Breaking my heart through and through,
Good or Bad only known by you.
You take my happiness with you,
Pop my bubble of happiness as you do,
Push me back to the starting line,
Force my journey’s start yet again with spine,
Making my hurdles before seem meaningless,
Put more difficult ones in front of me regardless.
You make me weaker,
You make me worse,
Made me wish I’d never done it,
Made me wish I’d stay in my pit,
You once again showed me I was right,
And wish you’d never happened at first light.
Relentlessly came again even after, you did.
Ultimately pushed me to accept you, you did,
But in the darkness, a spark remains,
A glimmer of hope, a light that sustains.
You challenge me, you test my will,
You push me to grow, to face my fears still.
You make me stronger,
You make me better,
Made me wish I’d done it sooner,
Made me wish I’d broken my tower,
Showed me I was wrong,
Thank you for pushing me along.
