Your Smile

Your smile had the colours, I never saw
My heart was an empty canvas, filled with flaws
You chose to paint me, with every pretty shade of light
And when I was in love, you chose to fade from my life
Your laugh had the melody, on which I grooved every night
And now that you’re gone
It sounds like faded sad song on the back of my mind
You healed my every brutal scar
And now your absence is making me bleed on the page
I wish you’d come for me
And let this lonely bird out of the cage
